Camcorder Sony HXR-NX5P merupakan sebuah Camcorder yang diperuntukkan demi kebutuhan pengambilan gambar dalam   ENG (Electronic News Gathering) dan Content Production seperti broadcast newsgathering, wedding, video journalism, event videography dan sebagainya. Dengan beberapa perbaikan dibanding pendahulunya, Camcorder Sony HXR-NX5P tampil lebih baik dalam kualitas audio, video dan cara pengoperasian. Selain itu, kali ini Sony juga menyertakan free Microphone ECM-XM1 serta berbagai aksesoris pendukung lainnya.

Kelengkapan Tombol

Di sisi kanan kamera terdapat pegangan standar yang nyaman. Power on/off dan tombol start/stop berada di bagian belakang. Danpenempatan tombol Zoom telah diperluas pada kamera ini. Hal ini memungkinkan Anda untuk cepat dan akurat memeriksa fokus pada subjek gambar. Di atas sisi kanan terletak 2 XLR  mic input, setiap baris mic ditambah phantom power per masing-masing saluran.

Tiga Sensor CMOS Exmor

Tiga sensor CMOS Exmor, lensa 20x 'G' dan dual XLR input dapat menghasilkan video yang indah. Sebuah HD-output SDI membuatsalah satu camcorder ini paling terjangkau. Sedangkan HDMI dan output RCA memungkinkan untuk kemudahan koneksi kemonitor. Serta ditambah dengan teknologi GPS. 

Format AVCHD dan G Lens

Sony HXR-NX5P memakai format AVCHD  yang sudah menjadi standar format untuk Professional Camcorder. Juga memanfaatkan teknologi terbaru dari Exmor Sensor System untuk mendapatkan low light sensitivity yang hanya 1.5lux sehingga hasil gambar yang di dapat dalam pencahayaan yang minim tetap sempurna. Semua kehebatan ini digabungkan dengan lensa ekslusif berperforma tinggi G Lens yang membuatnya menjadi sebuah kamera yang sangat menyenangkan untuk berkreasi, khususnya di bidang ENG dan Content Production.
